Terrell Eldorado Owens was born on December 7, 1973 in Alexander City, Ala. to Marilyn Heard and L.C. Russell, her neighbor. Owens was raised by Heard and his grandmother, and he went a good part of his childhood without knowing who his father was. It wasn’t until he was 11 years old that he made the discovery.
Terrell Owens was drafted out of little-known Tennessee-Chattanooga in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. A prolific receiver with great hands and a knack for making big plays, his career totals were 1,078 catches for 15,934 yards, 14.8 yards per catch and 153 TDs.
