Jan 21, 2023 · In a recent interview, Javed Akhtar recalled how he and Salim Khan started writing together and said that it was Salim who encouraged him to be a screenwriter. Javed, in a chat with BBC News Hindi, said that he wished to become a director in the movies and was working as an assistant director and dialogue writer in a 1966 film called Sarhadi Lutera.
