Sachin Bhowmick (17 July 1930 [1] – 12 April 2011) was an Indian Hindi film writer and director. Writing was his main work and he wrote stories or screenplays for over 94 films. [2] [3] He is best remembered for directing the light romantic black comedy classic Raja Rani (1973).

MUMBAI: Veteran screenwriter Sachin Bhowmick, who had films like Gol Maal and Aradhana to his credit, died at his Pali Hill residence on Tuesday. He was 80. Actor-producer Rohit Kumar said, "He had not been keeping well for some time. He died of a heart attack in the afternoon."
