A hard-hitting middle-order batter, a handy off-spinner and an ace fielder, Riyan was part of India's World Cup-winning Under-19 squad in 2018. With 248 runs in seven games, he was the highest run-getter for Assam in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
