It stars Diana Penty as the eponymous character; a free-spirited bride-to-be from Amritsar who runs away from her wedding ceremony and inadvertently arrives in Lahore , Pakistan.

On the day of her marriage to Bagga, a businessman, Harpreet Happy Kaur elopes with her boyfriend, Guddu. She ends up in a truck heading to Lahore where she meets Bilal, an upcoming politician. An angry Bagga abducts Guddu and reaches Lahore in search of Happy. What ensues is a hilarious cat and mouse chase.

Happy (Diana Penty) is supposed to marry Bagga (Jimmy Shergill), a small-time merchant. But, on the eve of her wedding, she tries to elope with her boyfriend, Guddu (Ali Fazal), a musician. However, during her escape stunt, she inadvertently finds herself in a truck which is scheduled to arrive in Lahore, to Bilal's (Abhay Deol) place. This ensues a chaos which leads to the climax of the movie where Happy is set to marry Guddu.
