The look into Bengali culture and social norms were interesting. The characters are interesting and somewhat different from the movie. For example Paro in this seems more stubborn and strong headed, while Devdas is more of an anti-hero who is weak and an emotional wreck. Chandramukhi is sweeter and is more humanized.
