Allan Robert Border AO (born 27 July 1955) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer. A batsman, Border was for many years the captain of the Australian team , and led his team to victory in the 1987 Cricket World Cup , the maiden world title for Australia.

Allan Robert Border (born July 27, 1955, Cremorne, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian cricketer who held the all-time run-scorer record in Test (international) matches from 1993 to 2005, when he was surpassed by Brian Lara. A left-handed batsman and bowler, Border grew up in Sydney and entered first-class cricket in 1977.
Allan Border was one of Australia's greatest captains, holding many records in Tests and ODIs. He led Australia to the World Cup title in 1987 and scored 11,174 runs in Tests, a record later broken by Brian Lara.
