Nestled along a magnificent coastline, Mazatlán is renowned for its sandy beaches, charming historic center, miradors, nightlife and long seafront promenade, the Malecón. It’s not for nothing that it’s nicknamed The Pearl of the Pacific!
- The Malecón. When in Mazatlan, don’t miss the Malecón. It’s my favorite place to hang out. This 13-mile seaside promenade offers great views, with the ocean on one side and the city on the other.
- Plaza Machado. Plaza Machado is a hub of history and culture in Old Mazatlan. The square is surrounded by colorful colonial buildings, creating a charming atmosphere.
- Centro Histórico. Centro Histórico, or the Historic Center, is where the city’s rich history and culture come to life. You’ll find historic buildings, narrow streets, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites exploration.

Mazatlán is a beach-resort city in the Mexican State of Sinaloa.
Why Visit Mazatlán? Known as “the Pearl of the Pacific”, I couldn’t find a more fitting name myself. Home to one of the longest malecóns in the world, you’ll be able to walk a good 21km along its stretch of coastline! It also has some truly stunning red sunsets, which are best viewed either on its beaches or up at El Faro (the lighthouse).
