It's disliked for a couple of reasons. The edit. People didn't like how they showed Russell SO MUCH. He was pushed down our throats. Not to mention nobody from Galu was even shown rather than Shambo who...aligned herself with Russell. Controversial winner. Many don't believe that Natalie should have won this season.
People said it was heavily edited towards one person. And that he would make/break the season for you. Yes, I definitely noticed that the edit was very fixated on Russel.. he got a ton of interviews and airtime. But I actually expected it to be way worse than it was.
Survivor: Samoa is WILD on reflection. Samoa. Its baffling to me why this season is so forgotten by the fandom when it has a great cast, memorable moments, really unique challenges and an interesting post-merge. All this and it consistently ranks last in survivor's golden era.
