At the peak there were almost four hundred cafes, now fewer than 30 remain.   8. Dishoom was founded in 2010 by co-founders Shamil and Kavi Thakrar, along with Amar and Adarsh Radia, who both left the business in 2017. It was designed to match the Irani cafés that were popular in Mumbai in the 1960s. The first Dishoom café opened in Covent Garden in 2010.
