The Story of Asya Klyachina (Russian: История Аси Клячиной, которая любила, да не вышла замуж, Istoriya Asi Klyachinoy, kotoraya lyubila, da ne vyshla zamuzh, also known as Asya's Happiness and Asya Klyachina's Story) is a 1966 Soviet movie. The artistic director was Mikhail Romadin.
His diploma film, The First Teacher, was quickly followed by his famous Story of Asya Klyachina, which was released in a strongly censored version in 1971. Despite official disapproval of that film, he continued a successful directing career in the Soviet Union and, in the 1980s, in the United States.
Iya Savvina's Asya Klyachina may not be an especially interesting woman, but she's as independent as all the other women at this collective farm haunted by war. Though lame, Asya is beautiful enough to earn a prompt proposal from an older and well-to-do visitor, her pride not necessarily being the deal-breaker.

The Story of Asya Klyachina, Who Loved, But Did Not Marry achieves an incredible feat - it blends acting with documentary seemlessly and gains expressiveness and authority through it. Its cast is both un- and believable; Rerberg's cinematography stunning. He really is a genius.
