Remembering a haunting song (pun intended!) set to this raga, I sat down to see Mehbooba. Of course, knowing that its Shakti Samanta film, I felt confident that it would have a certain class.

Jan 1, 2014 · Mere Naina Sawan Bhadon (Raga Shivaranjani) Raga Shivaranjani is an ideal one to depict pathos. RD used this song twice in Mehbooba (1976). Kishore Kumar and Lata have both sung this RD Composition. I love this version by Kishore Kumar just a little bit more.

Sivaranjani rāgam brings out karuna rasa (pathos) and lends itself for elaboration and exploration.
