Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (28 May 1923 – 18 January 1996), [1] often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, film editor, philanthropist and politician who served as a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms.
He portrayed Lord Rama in films ‘Lava Kusha’ and ‘Shri Ramanjaneya Yuddham’, as Ravana in the films ‘Bhookailas’ and ‘Seetharama Kalyanam’, and Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in films ‘Dakshayagnam’ and ‘Sri Venkateswara Mahatyam,’ respectively.
