Rajan Sankaranarayanan is an Indian structural biologist and a group leader at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad. He is known for his research in the field of protein translation, especially for his contribution in chiral proofreading during protein biosynthesis.
Sankaranarayanan, after returning to India in 2002, has set up a state-of-the-art macromolecular crystallography laboratory and carrying out research in the field of Structural Biology. From CCMB, his group has made outstanding contributions in the area of proofreading during protein biosynthesis.
Prof. Rajan Sankaranarayanan is Chief Scientist at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad. He received his PhD from the Molecular Biophysics Unit at the Indian Institute of Science, in the field of structural biology.
