Misa Bharti Yadav (born 22 May 1976) is an Indian politician from the state of Bihar and the daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi [1] and is the Member of Parliament from Patliputra. [2] In June 2016, she was the party's nominee for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections and was elected unopposed along with Ram Jethmalani from Bihar .
Misa was named after the infamous Draconian law “Maintenance of Internal Security Act” (MISA) invoked during Indira Gandhi’s government in 1971 under which her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and several other oppositions leaders were jailed during the Emergency. Misa Bharti with her mother in 1978.
