Domaine Michel Magnien has evolved into a Burgundy producer of a singular style and philosophy from their cellars located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. Michel Magnien was born in 1946 and worked alongside his father Bernard from a young age.
Domaine Michel Magnien is a producer of singular style and philosophy. Having started as growers in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Magnien family sold their grapes to a local co-operative until 1993, when Michel Magnien's son Frederic joined the business and persuaded his father to bottle the entire harvest by themselves.
Bernard’s son Michel Magnien, born 1946, added various new vineyards, making a speciality of buying scrubland within the appellation borders and planting it, for example Les Evocelles in Gevrey-Chambertin, Fremières in Chambolle-Musigny and premier cru Les Chaffots in Morey-St-Denis.
