  2. Apr 9, 2019 · Joey Tribbiani had a lot of relationships on Friends, but they weren't all amazing. Here are the best and worst of his relationships on the show!

    • Worst: Needy. Remember: Joey was an incredible friend, and he was super close to Chandler. He was also immature, so a final negative trait was his neediness.
    • Best: Funny. Last but not least, when it came to good traits, Joey was hilarious. In fact, he may have been the funniest main character (though this would be hard to narrow down, to be honest)!
    • Worst: Childish. On the other hand, Joey was very childish. Sure, it can be fine for an adult to let loose and have some fun. There is a line and a limit, though.
    • Best: Compassionate. Joey was very outgoing and often greeted people with, “How you doin’?” Therefore, it was also a nice surprise to see how authentic and compassionate he could be.
    • "I HAD TO EAT EVERYTHING." Since Joey's acting career was so unreliable, he was almost always struggling for money. This got worse when Chandler moved out of their shared apartment and in with Monica.
    • "IS IT OBVIOUS I'M WEARING SIX SWEATERS?" Joey had the biggest collection of relationships over the course of the series, ranging from normal women, and sometimes, total lunatics.
    • "WHAT WOULD A DINOSAUR DO?" The gang's very limited understanding of the things Ross says serve as audience representation. Out of everyone, Joey is the one who knows the least about Ross' palaeontology career.
    • "A SPOON! YOUR HANDS! YOUR FACE! " When Joey appears on the gameshow, Pyramid, watching him trying to guess the answers to painfully obvious questions is completely hilarious.
    • He is a great secret keeper. In the episode The One Where Everybody Finds Out, Joey's secret-keeping abilities are really tested when he has to keep Chandler and Monica's relationship a secret from the rest.
    • He makes sacrifices for everyone. Friends is not complete without Joey's large-heartedness. Perhaps that's what makes him the most wholesome of all friends.
    • He is the human version of Hugsy. If there's one man who is never afraid of a good bear hug, it's Joey. Chandler and Joey's hugs are the mark of a great friendship.
    • He is always there for you, when the rain starts to pour. Whether you need someone to hang out with in Central Perk or someone to loan you money, Joey is always there.
  3. Joey is an Italian-American struggling actor who lives in New York City with his roommate and best friend, Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and hangs out in a tight-knit group of his best friends: Chandler, Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow). He lived with ...

  4. Chandler and Joey. Chandler is Joey's best friend. Joey meets Chandler when he shows up at the apartment for a roommate interview. He is initially shunned by Chandler when he incorrectly assumes that he is gay. Mr. Heckles interferes with Chandler's originally selected roommate, which means that Joey becomes Chandler's new roommate.
