Rask was drafted 21st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs before being traded to the Boston Bruins in 2006, where he played his entire 15 season NHL career. The Boston Bruins acquired him in a 2006 trade with the Leafs in exchange for goalie Andrew Raycroft. Rask made his B's debut during the 2007-08 season and was the team's starting goalie from 2012-13 through 2020-21.
