    • The New 52 Year One. It is where our New 52 era starts! Flashpoint happened and we enter a new phase in our favorite characters’ history. For the first year anniversary of the New 52 Initiative, all New 52 titles were renumbered to #0 for a single month, with the goal to tell new origin stories or fill in gaps that were left in the five-year gap between the emergence of superheroes in the current universe, and present day.
    • Trinity War and Forever Evil. The villains get the spotlight, thanks to Villains Month, in September 2013 in conjunction with the event Forever Evil (following Trinity War) and it was the first major crossover in the New 52.
    • Futures End. We enter The New 52: Futures End, an eleven-month weekly comic book miniseries, published by DC Comics, that began in May 2014 and ran through April 2015.
  3. Overview. The most significant narrative running through DC's New 52 era is essentially split into two halves. The first deals with the aftermath of Flashpoint (Reading Order) and the next sets up plotlines for the Rebirth era.

    • The Court of Owls. Collects Batman #1-7. For more information about the apparitions of the Court of Owls, follow this guide.
    • The City of Owls. Collects Batman #8–12, and Batman Annual #1. Batman: The Night of the Owls – Collects all of the tie-ins. Most of them take place after Batman #8, but some will spoil the ending.
    • Death of the Family. Collects Batman #13-17. The Joker: Death of the Family. Collects the tie-in Catwoman 13-14, Batgirl 13-16, Suicide Squad 14-15, Batman and Robin 15-16, Nightwing 15-16, Detective Comics 15-16, Red Hood and The Outlaws 15-16 and Teen Titans 15-16.
    • Zero Year – Secret City. Collects Batman #21-24.
