The Trust was established in 1979 by one of India’s respected Statesman, Late Justice KS Hegde, Supreme Court Judge and Speaker of Lok Sabha, with the mission of empowering rural youth through quality education and healthcare.
The constituent colleges of the University have developed programs that effectively integrate sustainable development related concepts and activities into the teaching-learning experiences. Nitte is recognized as one of the best universities in Karnataka, India with 36 institutions spread over 3 campuses offering a variety of courses.
NITTE, officially NITTE (Deemed to be University), is an institute of higher education located in Derlakatte, Mangalore, India. It is formed under the Trust of NITTE, a trust sponsored by Nitte Education Trust [ 1 ] which has established 31 institutions spread in three campuses at Nitte , Mangalore and Bangalore .
In the year 2008, when Nitte Education Trust has been awarded with status of Deemed University, she has been appointed as the Finance Officer of Nitte (Deemed to be University). She is responsible for the Preparation, verification and dissemination of Critical Monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports coupled with budgeting and forecasting.
