Also from personal experience, in my first year, my flat was roughly half international students, half UK students, which was a great experience and pretty standard across most of my friend's flats.

Met a member of the recruitment team and a 2nd year student ambassador showed us around on a campus tour before we spent the next few hours by ourselves checking out the locality of the various on-campus student accommodations.

The university also has hundreds of societies and sports clubs so you'll have no trouble finding something to interest you. If you're particularly sporty, there are three sports centres, two on the main campus and one in Fallowfield.
