Salò (Italian:; Latin: Salodium) is a town and comune in the Province of Brescia in the region of Lombardy (northern Italy) on the banks of Lake Garda, on which it has the longest promenade.
Salò is the largest and most important town on the Brescia side of Lake Garda. The territory of the municipality includes that part of the coast overlooking the gulf of the same name.
Salo is situated in a natural inlet at the southern end of the Gardone Riviera and on the western side of Lake Garda in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is a quiet town in an attractive setting backed by mountain scenery and fronted by the lake.
