Summary: One of the most well-equipped suburbs in all of Sydney, Lidcombe is home to an immense amount of variety in multiple forms – housing, businesses, restaurants, streetscapes, and even cultures.
It's very quickly being gentrified. Over the last two decades, a lot of high rises have gone up in the area around the station and it's quickly turning into a Burwood for people who can't actually afford to live in Burwood. Outside of the station area however, it's still mostly a sleepy suburb town.
Lidcombe is a nice, quiet and clean suburb that is about a twenty minutes drive from the city. The streets are lined with neat and tidy houses and there is plenty of greenery, in the form of parks and trees, in Lidcombe. Lidcombe is also very accessible by train and the trains do come fairly frequently.

- Milsons Point. This lower north shore pocket has climbed from second place in 2016 to top spot. Blessed by a harbourfront location, the suburb earns points for having spectacular views and for access to cafes, thanks to a vibrant foodie scene.
- Lavender Bay. Lavender Bay may not be reigning champion of liveability any longer, but locals can still claim to live in a top-performing suburb. It has similar advantages to Milsons Point when it comes to culture, cafes, walkability and public transport, and boasts an excellent retail ranking courtesy of the shops along Blues Point Road nearby.

You got a few suburb near Lidcombe that has larger shopping area - Parramatta, Ashfield and Burwood. Auburn is a nice place to do your daily groceries. More convenient than the Lidcombe shopping centre far out on the major road.
