  3. Jan 2, 2023 · GTA 5 has a definite advantage in gameplay, while GTA 4 had the advantage in story and writing. In the end, the gaps in quality between the two traits are the deciding factor. GTA 5 is a little bit better to play than GTA 4 was, but the gap between the stories is more significant, and that is the deciding factor in GTA 4 's favor.

  4. GTA IV had a better story, characters and the city seemed more... authentic. It just had more attention to detail and the insides of modelled buildings were better to play around with. GTA V has tighter overall mechanics and features like 1st person mode and stuff like car and character customization.
