- Protagonists. Being able to switch between multiple playable protagonists is certainly an interesting idea, but it's not without its flaws. By forcing them to share the spotlight with one another, it makes it difficult for any one of them to truly shine and for players to become fully invested in their stories.

- Physics. Consoles and computers have come a long way over the past few decades. Most developers have used this increased processing power to make their games more realistic, yet this is an area where the GTA series has bucked the trend somewhat.
GTA V is much more 'Hollywood' than IV because LS is much brighter, glitzier and more glamorous than LC. That said I do prefer IV. the car physics are much better IMO. Cars have a real weight to them, plus the character movement is a lot more responsive in IV. Reply reply.
Jan 2, 2023 · GTA 5 has a definite advantage in gameplay, while GTA 4 had the advantage in story and writing. In the end, the gaps in quality between the two traits are the deciding factor. GTA 5 is a little bit better to play than GTA 4 was, but the gap between the stories is more significant, and that is the deciding factor in GTA 4 's favor.
GTA IV had a better story, characters and the city seemed more... authentic. It just had more attention to detail and the insides of modelled buildings were better to play around with. GTA V has tighter overall mechanics and features like 1st person mode and stuff like car and character customization.
