But I just feel that I need to talk about how this book made me feel, and that is that (among other issues) the big reveal of the closing pages was on par with the cardinal sin of writing -- never use "it was just a dream" as a twist ending.

If you want to go in completely spoiler free know that if you love surreal, thought provoking stories that you will keep thinking about for a long time after the book is finished, read it.
May 30, 2022 · Some chapters of his book just felt like individual short stories and I was absolutely stunned by the wisdom of what he writes. It's mind boggling. I went into this book with no previous knowledge except that it involves a car-ride and some sort of visit to some place remote. I finished this last week and I'm yet to read it for the second time.
Jan 5, 2022 · Tldr: A lonely janitor who is suicidal finds solace in visualizing himself as Jesse Pinkman's character. He has a girlfriend in his head, his ideal woman, but is a product of his imagination (think pixar inside out but with people as in they represent his emotions, doubts etc.
Sep 7, 2020 · I'm Thinking of Ending Things The thing that made me think he raped a girl once, or rather multiple girls, is the multiple cups of Brrs in the dumpster. Like this wasn't Jake's first rodeo. It was his standard MO to go to Tulsey Town and then go to the high school to dump his melting cup of Brrr. It could have also just been symbolic, all the cups.
