May 25, 2017 · Ben. When creating the arrow, we can hold Shift key to set the line horizontally or vertically. When we try to edit the arrow, as Doug said that, please set the Shape Width to adjust it. We cannot adjust the arrow line horizontally or vertically by moving one end, it does skip a little degree.
To work around this problem and make the straight line horizontal, set the height to zero in the Size tab of the Layout dialog box. Similarly, to make the straight line vertical, set the width to zero. To display the Layout dialog box, right-click the line and choose More Layout Options. Oct 15, 2016 · To create a horizontal line, hold the Shift key before you drag with the drawing tool... Keep the key pressed until you release the mouse button. The Shift key constrains the line to the direction you begin dragging. Likewise, to change the length of an existing line without pivoting it off-axis, hold Shift while dragging.

Another way is to use the Arc tool in the Basic Shapes group to draw the curve; then double-click the curve to open its Properties dialog and choose an arrowhead from the End Style dropdown.
