The desktop and online versions of Sejda are virtually identical, so if you try one, you know pretty much what the other is like. The interface is non-standard, but easy to navigate nonetheless. The floating toolbar that provides access to all of the various tools and options is always available as you scroll through your document, and tools are intelligently grouped together to make them easy to find.
Sejda is so self-explanatory, it's difficult to fault the tools that are available, but anyone with serious design needs will be disappointed in the lack of precise layout and movement controls.

To sum up, we believe that desktop Sejda is a secure PDF editor and that is why it's not free-of-charge software. We wouldn't be so sure about an online PDF editor, because your information is being uploaded to a third-party server, and it can be a bit risky.

My next steps: Trial Sejda's desktop version (I prefer desktop interface, plus info is kept off Sejda servers). If all goes well, drop you-know-who in favor of Sejda. I also recommended business version to my sister's law firm.

Unlike the other editors in this list, you can use Sejda for free indefinitely, but the caveats are numerous: you can only perform three tasks per day, can’t handle PDFs over 50MB or 200 pages in length, and can only convert documents one by one.
