Microsoft 365 is different than Office 2016/2019 (one-time purchase). When you sign-in in any of the Office applications with your Microsoft 365 account, it signs you in all the other Office apps automatically. As you have added your new Exchange 365 account in Outlook, it signed you in other Office apps (such as Word, Excel, etc.) as well.
