Open mics are a great way to start: they are generally free, don’t put a lot of pressure on performers, and encourage beginners to try new material.

    • Do improv to help your comedic timing. Improv training develops your humor in a fast-paced environment. Look online or at comedy clubs in your area to see if they offer improv courses.
