Several types of financial aid include grants, institutional and external scholarships, work-study, and loans. All domestic students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive federal/ institutional aid while enrolled at Howard University.
At Howard University, more than half of all students receive some form of financial aid. The total amount of financial aid (need and non-need based) awarded to a student cannot exceed his or her total educational costs.
