i think you need an account to reserve one, and obviously youll need some internet connected device to do the reserving, but you dont need a computer with the steam program installed if something goes on sale, you can even buy it before you get your steam deck and then install it whenever you get one, altho it may be best to see how games run on it before you run out and buy a ton of stuff
