Asagaya (阿佐ヶ谷) is a residential area of Tokyo located in Suginami ward (one of the 23 wards or boroughs of Tokyo) west of Shinjuku. Main access to Asagaya is via the Chūō-Sōbu Line, 12 minutes by train from Shinjuku station.

Asagaya's elegant refinement and shitamachi vibes are essentially a paradox. It encompasses both high and low, sophistication and solitude with bar-filled backstreets and old-school ambience. The town is home to the famous Asagaya Museum of Modern Art.
