  1. Jul 22, 1994 · "North" is a bad film - one of the worst movies ever made. But it is not by a bad filmmaker, and must represent some sort of lapse from which Reiner will recover - possibly sooner than I will.

  2. Apr 30, 2013 · Anyways, so like a lot of bad movies North can make a pretty convincing case for actually being a decent movie. It was a bad movie, very disjointed and scattered. Film critic Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times seemed especially baffled by North, describing Reiner as "a gifted filmmaker" and Wood as "a talented young actor", yet North was "one of the worst movies ever made." Ebert stressed that he "hated this movie" and also suggested the film was so poorly written that even the best child actor would ...

  9. North (Elijah Wood) is a talented and bright kid, but his mom (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and dad (Jason Alexander) are utterly preoccupied with other things in their lives, leaving him largely ignored.

  10. Few movies are as despised as Rob Reiner’s North. Most famously, Roger Ebert wrote an extremely negative review expressing his deep hatred for North, an opinion that far too many seem to echo without actually seeing the movie.
