Tap > Linked devices > Link a device. Unlock your primary phone: If your device has biometric authentication, follow the on-screen instructions. If you don’t have biometric authentication enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter the PIN you use to unlock your phone.
To begin linking a companion device using your phone number, open Whatsapp for Windows or WhatsApp Web on the device you want to link. Click Link with phone number . Select your country and enter your primary account phone number.

When you get a new phone, you can switch your WhatsApp account onto your new phone without receiving an SMS code. If your phone number is eligible, you can verify it using your old device. WhatsApp will send a push notification to the old device with a 6-digit code you can enter in your new device.
If you have contact permissions enabled for your phone’s address book and WhatsApp contacts turned on, you can choose which contacts on WhatsApp to sync to your phone. You can check if you have contact permissions enabled by going to your phone’s Settings > WhatsApp > Contacts .
On your old phone scan the QR code shown on your new phone. Accept the invitation to connect on your new phone to link your new phone to your old phone. While your chat history is transferring, a percentage bar will track the progress. Keep both phones unlocked and don’t leave WhatsApp.
You can quickly identify which of your contacts use WhatsApp by accessing your phone's address book. Add new contacts in the following ways:
Link a web, desktop, or tablet device with QR code. Open the WhatsApp Business app on your primary phone. Tap > Linked devices > Link a device. Point your phone at the screen of the device you want to link and scan the QR code.
Set your network to bypass traffic to "web.whatsapp.com" or ".whatsapp.net". This can resolve problems caused by Wi-Fi networks that block WhatsApp. Note : You can use WhatsApp Web on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Safari.
Android: Tap > Linked devices > Link a device > Link with phone number instead. iPhone: Go to Settings > Linked devices > Link device > Link with phone number instead. If prompted, confirm your identity using biometric authentication or the PIN you use to unlock your phone.
