The adherence to a more classic superhero template means it is lacking in any genuine surprise or outstanding innovation, but this approach is always filtered through Jenkins’ contemporary lens, which lends it distinct humanity amongst the ‘80s cheese.

The movie has no lasting repercussions and zero character growth. If you like bubblegum, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. It is absolutely too shallow and campy a movie to try an dissect or do a deep breakdown of. It feels like a modern movie doing an homage to a superhero movie made in 1984.
Dec 17, 2020 · Everything felt like it was deliberately set to fit in an actual 1984 movie. Random chaos and people bumping into each other on small sets, crumpled papers whirling everywhere, cheesy dialogue. That is a good way of looking at it actually. but it isnt deliberate enough to be obvious so it just looked sloppy and cheesy.

Dec 30, 2020 · Cheetah is Barbara Minerva who randomly wished to become an “apex predator”. She ain’t no demigod in this movie. She got electrocuted in the water and the fight was over lol. Wonder Woman, an actual demigod, absolutely didn’t need the armor for someone like her not to mention she already fought an actual god in the first Wonder Woman.

Dec 25, 2020 · The Fix: Have the movie take place both during World War2 AND 1984. The How: Stick with Greek Gods striking out against humanity plot.- Hades vs Wonder Woman. The Why: The plot device of WW against vengeful Greek Gods should be the sole focus of her movies. Doing so, your bad guys are fairly easy to write for.
Thats how bad the plot holes, editing was. The movie jumped around so much that I was like wait I havent even got a chance to make sense of that last scene. I spend more time trying to make the movie fit together than the movie production. Ive seen 80s claude van damme movies that fit together better than WW 1984.
Dec 15, 2020 · They have had one hell of a turnaraound with their latest run of movies: from critically reviled turd after turd (starting with Man of Steel and ending with Justice League) to a solid run of solidly reviewed Fresh after Fresh starting with Wonder Woman and ending (so far) with Wonder Woman 1984. We may not have a full-fledged extended universe, but at least WB learned their lessons and got rid of the dark, gloomy, turgid clouds that effed up their first few movies.
