Assessment of Fly ash application on soil quality and input use efficiency in maize - wheat cropping system ABSTRACT Field experiment was conducted during the year 2022-23 in the second year of an ongoing long-term field experiment in maize-wheat cropping system in a sandy loam soil at the research farm of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Ex-post facto research design was adopted in this study. The data were collected with the help of pretested interview schedule from the respondents as per their convenience at their home or farms.
Out of 27 alleles, 26 were found to be polymorphic and only 1 monomorphic. On an average, 9 alleles per primer loci were found and 8.667 average polymorphic alleles. A high level of polymorphism (96.29%) indicated the presence of high variability in foxtail millet (S. italica) accessions.
The experiment was laid out in RCBD design with 03 replications using two check varieties (Arka Prabhavi and Arka Divya). Among 22 accessions evaluated, the accession Acc. 42 performed better for most of the growth, herbage yield and quality attributes as compared to the check variety Arka Divya.
A study on variability, correlation , path coefficient, genetic divergence, stability and ICUMSA in sugarcane (Sachharum spp.) with 21 genotypes for 15 yield and its components in six environments revealed highly significant genotypic differences for all the characters indicating considerable amount of genetic variability among the genotypes under study.
