  4. Jan 4, 2020 · First outing was Donmar with a very young Sheridan Smith as Little red riding hood. Then at the Pheonix with the wonderful Julia McKenzie as the witch. Followed by Regents Park but only saw act one as 2nd act was washed out. Finally the American cast who did a stripped down version at the Menier.

We have people constantly overlooked (Petula Clark, Julia McKenzie, Elaine Paige) while titles have gone (and I'm not taking anything away from Ms Staunton, although it seems a tad premature) to people who haven't/didn't live in the UK for years or contribute to the country, or whose achievements are lesser than others.

Jane Krakowski and Rebel Wilson were in their mid 30s too. Carly Mercedes Dyer is definitely not too young

  9. Apr 19, 2017 · Not stage door but encounters in theatre cafes or foyers. Derek Fowlds of Basil Brush and Heartbeat fame coped brilliantly with a table of people loudly speculating whether he was in Emmerdale (he eventually put them out of their misery). Julia Mckenzie very sweet and friendly at the Menier. Alan Carr at the BFI, lovely and chatty.
