Dec 11, 2015 · Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. Ebsen was a country boy and he looked it. He usually played hayseeds in the movies, so it was only natural to cast him as the Scarecrow. Ray Bolger, however, became a dancer because he was inspired by Fred Stone, who was the Scarecrow in the original Broadway operetta of 1904.

Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) contacted her Republican opponent and recorded a radio ad saying Nancy was too liberal and not to vote for her. She would likely have lost the election anyway, but lost 34% to 66%.
