Mar 1, 2022 · The group first began to take shape when bandmates Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, and Mike Shinoda met in high school in Southern California. Connecting over their love of music, the three formed the band Xero in 1996 (per AllMusic). Three more members joined soon after — Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, Mark Wakefield, and Joseph Hahn.
Through the Karma bandmembers, he met Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda, who both lived nearby in the San Fernando Valley. Eventually, Rob and Brad would form their own band called Relative Degree, whose sound he likens to 311.
Delson, alongside Mike Shinoda and Rob Bourdon, founded Xero, the earliest incarnation of Linkin Park, in 1996.
