Born in 1888, Cabanne (pronounced CAB-a-nay) started his career on stage as an actor and director. He appeared on-screen in dozens of short films from 1911 to 1915.
The namesake son of veteran screen director William Christy Cabanne, handsome William Cabanne played callow youths at Paramount in the early '40s. Although stardom eluded him, young Cabanne continued to play bit roles in films and on television through the mid-'50s.
