Character Analysis Randy Adderson. Randy Adderson is Bob's best friend; he is a fellow Soc. After Bob's death, Randy stops Pony on the street and tells him that the fighting between the Socs and the greasers is pointless.
Randy : You can't win. You know that, don't you? It doesn't matter if you whip us, you'll still be where you were before, at the bottom. And we'll still be the lucky ones at the top with all the breaks. It doesn't matter.
Character Analysis. Randy is Marcia's boyfriend, as well as Bob's best friend and partner in crime. He probably participated in the beating of Johnny, and certainly in the violence against other Greasers. When Bob is stabbed by Johnny in the park, Randy runs off with his friends, leaving Bob's bleeding body behind.
