Vijender Singh Beniwal (born 29 October 1985) is an Indian professional boxer and politician of Bharatiya Janata Party. [ 1 ] As an amateur, he won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, becoming the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal.
Vijender Singh is an Indian Boxer who turned professional in 2015. He is the first Indian boxer to win a medal in the Olympic Games. In 2019, he joined the Indian National Congress to contest the 2019 General Election from South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Vijender was born into a poor family and had no money to receive any kind of training in boxing. He is the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal after beating Ecuadorian “Carlos Gongora.” He was signed for a Bollywood film in 2011, but due to his marriage, the producer dropped him considering that he won’t be as popular among females.
