Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Gujarati: [ˈsəndʒeː ˈlilɑː ˈbʱəɳsɑliː]; born 24 February 1963) is an Indian filmmaker, producer and music composer, who is known for his work in Hindi films. He is the recipient of several awards , including seven National Film Awards and 12 Filmfare Awards (of which five were for Best Director ), in addition to a nomination for a BAFTA Award . [2]
Padmaavat Controversy- In early 2017, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was reportedly beaten up by the members of the 'Shri Rajput Karni Sena' on the sets of his film, Padmaavat, in Jaipur. The community was upset by the news of alleged love scenes between Padmaavat (Deepika Padukone) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh).
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a multi-talented person who wrote, directed and produced numerous films during his career. He is best known for his films like Devdas (2002), Black (2005), Mary Kom (2014), and Bajirao Mastani (2015) for which he received the National Film Awards.
