Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (Korean: 화랑; Hanja: 花郞; lit. Hwarang) is a 2016 South Korean television series starring Park Seo-joon, Go Ara and Park Hyung-sik. It revolves around an elite group of young men called Hwarang, who discover their passion, friendship and love in the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC–AD 935).
This is a story of the friendship and love of Hwarang and a story of the youth struggling to make the world a better place. Above all, this is a whole new myth. We all once have read about Hwarang and heard about a few famous historical Hwarangs.

It evolves around an elite group of young men called hwarang who discover their passions, love and friendship in the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom (57 B.C. - A.D. 935).
During historical times, an elite group of handsome youths known as Hwarang were created by the Queen ( Kim Jisoo) to protect her seat on the throne of Silla. Her son, Prince Sam Maekjong ( Park Hyungsik ), who little to anyone’s knowledge, is a Hwarang himself using the name Dwiji.
