Dec 7, 2020 · Bedford School pupil Alexander Olleson impressed the judges on BBC One yesterday (November 6) having battled his way to the final a week before. The talented 14 year old, who joined Bedford School in September on a music scholarship, won the coveted BBC Young Chorister of the Year.

Jan 21, 2021 · Olleson, 13, who is a member of Bedford School Chapel Choir, chose Reger’s The Virgin’s Slumber Song to sing in the final, in front of a judging panel that included composer John Rutter and soprano Laura Wright, herself a former Young Chorister winner. The six finalists were mentored beforehand by singers Aled Jones and Katherine Jenkins.
Dec 7, 2020 · A Bedford School boy has won BBC Young Chorister of the Year after wowing the judges at yesterday’s final at Gorton Monastery in Manchester. Alexander Olleson appeared on BBC One last night (Sunday), impressing the expert judges, including composer John Rutter, former Chorister of the Year winner, Laura Wright and Carl Jackson.
