Camberwell (/ ˈ k æ m b ər w ɛ l / KAM-bər-wel) is an area of South London, England, in the London Borough of Southwark, 2 + 3 ⁄ 4 miles (4.5 kilometres) southeast of Charing Cross. Camberwell was first a village associated with the church of St Giles and a common of which Goose Green is a remnant.
East of Brixton and west of Peckham, this artsy area with Victorian houses has a great mix of things to get excited about. - Chill out and watch some jazz at The Crypt. Another one of the best things to do in Camberwell is watching a jazz show at The Crypt – a subterranean live music venue under the magnificent St. Giles Church.
