Produced by Lucasfilm, the series was mostly filmed in Wales in April 2021, [3] and premiered on the streaming service Disney+ on November 30, 2022. In March 2023, the series was officially cancelled after only one season, [4] though Jonathan Kasdan stated that the series was on hiatus. [5] .

34 years after Willow first hit theaters, Disney is returning to George Lucas's fantastical world for a sequel series once again starring Warwick Davis as the titular sorcerer. Ron Howard, who directed the original film, returns as an executive producer on the new series, which Disney calls "an epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility."

Willow will be available exclusively on Disney Plus. If you subscribe to that service, you'll be able to watch all episodes as they're released. Willow is a sequel series to the 1988 Ron Howard-directed movie of the same name. Here's the official synopsis from Disney:
The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness. Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.
Willow was developed by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story). The first two episodes were directed by Stephen Woolfenden (Outlander). It stars the following actors:
