The dedicated Nintendo Video app launched in Australia, Europe, and Japan on July 13, 2011, with initial videos including Oscar's Oasis and Magic Tricks for the Nintendo 3DS. [2][3] The app became available in North America a few days later on July 21, 2011. [4]

Nintendo Video was a free application for the Nintendo 3DS that automatically downloads 3D videos whenever the system is on. The videos range from movie trailers to original videos made just for the 3DS, and four videos are available at any one time. You have no option about which videos you receive and no videos can be saved permanently. Note that different regions will receive different videos.
Old videos have been resent regularly, in which case they usually appear in the bottom right position.

Sep 19, 2024 · The Nintendo Video app was terminated in Europe on April 4, 2014, in Japan, Oceania, and some countries on March 31, 2014, and in North America on June 29, 2015; certain videos could be viewed on eShop, however, but they have been removed on March 27, 2023 following the service's discontinuation.
