Eschewing these, I focused most of my visit around Cimavilla – the historic upper quarter of the city – covering what is listed below. Gijón’s San Lorzeno Beach.

From this vantage point, you can see across the coastline and the city. The Cerro de Santa Catalina was a military ground until the nineties. Once decomissioned, this area of the city was transformed into a public park.
