The college was founded by Late Shri Mangaldas Verma, noted industrialist and philanthropist and named it after the great reformer and founder of the Arya Samaj - `Maharshi Dayananad Saraswati`. The College began in an old mansion named `Kamgar Manzil` at Parel.
